A Chanukah Menorah Tour In Bnei Brak

Region: Tel Aviv and Center, By Appointment: Yes
Source: Siyur Sipur
Region: Tel-Aviv area

We came to expel the darkness.

On the eight Hanukkah evenings, the streets of Bnei Brak are illuminated by the light of hundreds of menorahs, each family its own.

On the tour, you can see how the families gather around the light of the menorah and truly enjoy it, during which you will be hosted in a family home to observe the mitzvah of lighting the menorah and to hear about the customs of the holiday.

We learn to distinguish according to the Menorah between Sephardim and Ashkenazim, while we tell stories and sing the songs of the holiday.

What darkness should be expelled? Where did the dreidel come from? Why is it custom to eat donuts? In the course of the tour we learn about the differences between the Lithuanians and the Chasidim, hear about Rebbes and Rabbis, we go up to the important Yeshiva of Ponevich and see hundreds of menorahs in the windows.

In addition, we hear about Rabbi Akiva, who lived in ancient Bnei Brak and hear about the Chasidic group that immigrated to Israel and established an agricultural colony.
