Eilat’s new international airport, Ramon, was inaugurated in January 2019. Located 18 kilometers (11 miles) north of Eilat, the new airport replaced two previous airports, Eilat city airport and Ovda airport, becoming the primary air gateway to the south of Israel and the Red Sea. The new Ramon Airport is expected to handle a gradual volume expansion to 4.2 million passengers annually in 2030.
The airport serves all domestic flights to Eilat from Tel Aviv and Haifa, and international flights from Europe, including low cost and charter flights that previously landed at Ovda Airport, such as Ryanair, WizzAir, Transavia, SAS, Finnair, Edelweiss, and Ural Airlines.
